Hodge Hill School Council is made up of children from Years 1 to 6.
One representative from each class is elected to represent the wishes and opinions of their fellow pupils. The elected members then vote for a Chair Person, Vice-Chair and Secretary.
The School Council meet twice every half term to discuss children’s views on school matters such as the new behaviour system, fundraising events and competitions. We have school council suggestion boxes in every classroom to make sure that we can gather opinions and ideas from all pupils about our school.
We have thought very carefully about our role in school and have created this mission statement that describes why we have a school council at Hodge Hill Primary School:
Here are some quotes from Hodge Hill’s School Council Representatives:
"I am excited to be in the school council because I can listen to people’s concerns and make the school a better place.", Year 6 representative.
"I am happy to be a school council representative because I want to make the school perfect.", Year 5 representative.
"I can’t wait to be on the school council because it is fun!", Year 4 representative.
"It’s great to be on the school council because there are lots of things to do like competitions.", Year 6 representative.
"I’m pleased to be in the school council because I want to help the school solve problems.", Year 5 representative.
"I am happy to be a school councillor because we organise fund raising and have fun.", Year 4 representative.
"I am happy to be a school councillor because I want to help and make new friends.",Year 1 representative.
