Writing to ENTERTAIN:

Children will be writing a short story. The process will involving planning, editing and redrafting their work, making sure they are including their Y6 writing skills.

 

Some of these skills include:

  • Expanded noun phrases
  • Adverbials
  • Descriptive language - Show not tell
  • Dialogue
  • Punctuation including commas, dashes and hyphens
  • Conjunctions and transitional phrases

 

The story is based upon the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in Pompeii, Italy.
