Measure 5 objects around your house and make a list of the length of these objects.  Can you order the objects shortest to longest?  Now make 5 of your own calculations by adding the lengths of the objects together.  If you do not have a ruler you can use the objects below.

 

Teddy bear = 15cm

Pencil = 12cm

Chair = 110cm (1 metre and 10 cm)

TV = 68cm

Window 205cm (2 metres and 5 cm)

  1.  Put these in order shortest to longest
  2. Make 5 calculations by adding objects together e.g

  • Using the information that you have gained during the Wednesday’s Science lesson can you find 6 food items in your kitchen (or food storage area) and sort the items into the correct food group (i.e. carbohydrates, fats, protein). If the items that you have chosen  are not a part of these groups you can use the  information from the video link in Wednesday’s lesson to suggest which group you think that the food belongs to.
