This half term we have been very busy learning lots of new things:

In English we have been reading books by Eric Carle and Julia Donaldson.  Children loved listening to the story- Stick Man, and writing their own story in the style of Julia Donaldson.

In Maths we have been finding the difference between two numbers, creating shape patterns, making 3D junk models and exploring different types of money.

In our topic lessons we have been finding out information all about the Arctic and Antarctic.  We were even visited by a Polar Explorer.

Next half term:

In English we will continue looking at Julia Donaldson and create a fact file all about her.  We will then be moving on to poetry.

In Maths we will be measuring length using a metre stick, estimating and comparing measures, as well as continuing with lots of addition and subtraction.

In our topic lessons we will continue finding out all about the Arctic and Antarctic and creating more fact files.  We will be looking at seasonal changes in Science, so keep an eye out with the Summer approaching.  What happens to the trees?  What is the weather like?  How is this different to Winter?

Please remember to bring book bags to school everyday.

PE is on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
