We make provision for pupils with a variety of needs. Provision may be different for each child as it is based on their specific needs. However, all children have support within lessons through learning activities matched to their learning level and quality first teaching strategies.
Types of provision:
Children can be taught in a variety of groupings, to meet their needs and support the best outcomes, this includes whole class, smaller groups or 1:1 teaching.
SENCO and class teachers can also signpost parents to local support groups and agencies outside of school that can assist in further supporting their child (Please see the list of links at the end).
We are an accessible school and strive to make reasonable adjustments for all of our pupils with SEND so they can access the curriculum and take part in all school activities.
Parent workshops are regularly provided at school on a range of aspects both academic and non academic.
Lead practitioners offer parents the opportunity to discuss any issues or concerns on a weekly basis.
We have a family support worker who is available to assist families.
We have a nurture group to support children with social and emotional issues and to advise families. For further information about our nurture group please read our Nurture Group Policy.
Equipment and facilities to support children with Special Educational Needs are secured through consultation with the appropriate professional and parents.
We have a personal care facility located in KS1, a disabled toilet in the reception area and in KS2.
