Welcome to 2D!

In 2D we have 30 children and 3 adults.

Miss Harris is here every day and she is the class teacher. We also have two lovely ladies who are Teaching Assistants and help us with our learning. Miss Sadiq is here to help us on Mondays and Tuesdays and Miss Mullings is here to help us on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

If you ever need any help or have any questions about what your child is learning in school we are always happy to help and will be happy to speak to you at the door or make an appointment with you for a longer meeting.

STEM Week - 13-17.03.17

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) week was a fabulous week of fun where the children in Year 2 were set a series of tasks to complete in order to design and build their very own catapults!

Some of the skills they practised included: measuring, cutting, estimating, testing, recording, evaluating and improving their design. They were incredibly resourceful and all the children in 2D cooperated and worked collaboratively with their friends to make a catapult that worked.

Year 2 Topic - Castles

In Year 2 the current topic of learning is Castles. We are finding out all about castles including:

  • Who lives in them
  • The parts of a Castle
  • The weapons and armour used by people in Castles

As part of our topic we went to Warwick Castle and had a fabulous day out looking at all of the exciting rooms, attractions and parts of the castle that we had learnt about in the classroom.

The children enjoyed their day out and so did all of the teachers that came too because all of Year 2 behaved amazingly for the whole day! Well done Year 2!

Check out our slideshow below to see some of the pictures from the day!
